Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Food & Beverages and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which rose 1.19% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.850 at the close. Edegel (LM:EDE) added 1.09% or 0.020 points to end at 1.860 and Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) was up 0.24% or 0.020 points to 8.180 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which lost 5.66% or 0.600 points to trade at 10.000 in late trade. Sider (LM:SID) declined 4.17% or 0.030 points to end at 0.690 and Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) shed 3.85% or 0.005 points to 0.125.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 4 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.65% or 0.46 to $71.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.06% or 0.05 to hit $78.42 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.57% or 7.50 to trade at $1313.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.18% to 3.2570, while EUR/PEN rose 0.03% to 3.9027.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 92.55.
