Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which rose 2.21% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.390 at the close. Compania Minera Milpo SAA Class I (LM:MILi) added 2.09% or 0.070 points to end at 3.420 and Relapasa (LM:REL) was up 1.47% or 0.005 points to 0.345 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX), which lost 8.45% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.07 in late trade. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) declined 3.77% or 0.560 points to end at 14.310 and Sider (LM:SID) shed 2.02% or 0.010 points to 0.485.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 13 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.76% or 0.47 to $61.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.38% or 0.26 to hit $67.88 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1321.30 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.19% to 3.2155, while EUR/PEN fell 0.33% to 3.8536.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 92.08.
