Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Mining and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.41% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi), which rose 6.78% or 1.460 points to trade at 23.000 at the close. PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX) unchanged 4.29% or 0.00 points to end at 0.07 and Sider (LM:SID) was up 1.49% or 0.010 points to 0.680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atacocha (LM:ATB), which lost 4.46% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.450 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 3.66% or 0.030 points to end at 0.790 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 3.00% or 0.030 points to 0.970.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.15% or 0.10 to $65.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $73.10 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.43% or 5.50 to trade at $1269.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.11% to 3.2745, while EUR/PEN rose 0.07% to 3.8053.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 94.54.
