Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 1.08% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 7.02% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.320 at the close. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) added 6.09% or 0.220 points to end at 3.830 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 5.36% or 0.030 points to 0.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Relapasa (LM:REL), which lost 4.51% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.233 in late trade. Sider (LM:SID) declined 3.85% or 0.008 points to end at 0.200 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) shed 3.77% or 0.010 points to 0.255.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.42% or 0.60 to $41.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $43.92 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.31% or 16.50 to trade at $1244.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2675, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6914.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.84% at 94.81.
