Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 7.69% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.140 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 2.24% or 0.250 points to end at 11.410 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 2.22% or 0.020 points to 0.920 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which lost 3.61% or 0.180 points to trade at 4.800 in late trade. Atacocha (LM:ATB) declined 3.03% or 0.010 points to end at 0.320 and Relapasa (LM:REL) shed 2.01% or 0.005 points to 0.244.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 13 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.66% or 0.32 to $47.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.25% or 0.12 to hit $49.02 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.19% or 2.25 to trade at $1212.05 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.03% to 3.4180, while EUR/PEN rose 0.31% to 3.6346.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 101.10.
