Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 1.56% to hit a new 3-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM:VOLa), which rose 18.75% or 0.600 points to trade at 3.800 at the close. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) added 9.16% or 0.120 points to end at 1.350 and Panoro (LM:PML) was up 6.90% or 0.018 points to 0.279 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atacocha (LM:ATB), which lost 5.97% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.630 in late trade. Credicorp (LM:BAP) declined 1.45% or 3.06 points to end at 208.50 and Unacem (LM:CEL) shed 1.34% or 0.040 points to 2.950.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 9 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.05% or 0.53 to $49.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $55.80 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.70 to trade at $1277.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2590, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.8304.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.31.
