Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Mining and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 5.23% or 0.750 points to trade at 15.100 at the close. Sider (LM:SID) added 4.44% or 0.020 points to end at 0.470 and Milpo (LM:MIL) was up 3.79% or 0.190 points to 5.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which lost 2.78% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.700 in late trade. Intergroup (LM:IFS) declined 1.99% or 0.790 points to end at 39.000 and PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX) 1.67% or 0.00 points to 0.06.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 9 and 17 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.30% or 0.18 to $59.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.16% or 0.10 to hit $62.69 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 9.00 to trade at $1324.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.34% to 3.2685, while EUR/PEN fell 0.14% to 4.0036.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 90.03.
