Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Edegel (LM:EDE), which rose 2.35% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.740 at the close. Alicorp (LM:ALI) added 2.28% or 0.230 points to end at 10.300 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was up 1.54% or 3.11 points to 204.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atacocha (LM:ATB), which lost 5.08% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.560 in late trade. Milpo (LM:MIL) declined 4.93% or 0.210 points to end at 4.050 and Relapasa (LM:REL) shed 4.66% or 0.013 points to 0.266.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.77% or 0.44 to $57.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.66% or 0.42 to hit $63.83 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1265.10 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.33% to 3.2820, while EUR/PEN fell 0.44% to 3.8702.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 93.05.
