Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.28% to hit a new 3-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX), which rose 26.53% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.06 at the close. Minera Irl (LM:IRL) added 11.11% or 0.01 points to end at 0.08 and Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) was up 3.80% or 0.300 points to 8.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE), which lost 3.10% or 0.090 points to trade at 2.810 in late trade. Bolsa de Valores de Lima SAA (LM:BVL) declined 3.03% or 0.100 points to end at 3.200 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 2.20% or 0.020 points to 0.890.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 12 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.93% or 0.44 to $47.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.65% or 0.34 to hit $52.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.30% or 3.92 to trade at $1295.92 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.03% to 3.2385, while EUR/PEN rose 0.76% to 3.8493.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.82% at 92.47.
