Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX), which rose 25.00% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.07 at the close. Minsur (LM:MINi) added 2.83% or 0.050 points to end at 1.820 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 2.74% or 0.020 points to 0.750 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Relapasa (LM:REL), which lost 6.80% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.315 in late trade. Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) declined 3.62% or 0.005 points to end at 0.133 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) shed 1.08% or 0.060 points to 5.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 11 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.34% or 0.81 to $61.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.19% or 0.12 to hit $64.48 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.40 to trade at $1355.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.64% to 3.2450, while EUR/PEN rose 0.07% to 4.0509.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 88.52.
