Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Mining and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 4.41% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.710 at the close. Edegel (LM:EDE) added 2.33% or 0.040 points to end at 1.760 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) was up 2.08% or 0.490 points to 24.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Casa Grande (LM:CSG), which lost 3.65% or 0.190 points to trade at 5.010 in late trade. Compania Minera Milpo SAA Class I (LM:MILi) declined 3.23% or 0.100 points to end at 3.000 and Candente Copper (LM:DNT) shed 2.99% or 0.0020 points to 0.0650.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 15 and 19 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.21% or 2.22 to $71.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $77.31 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1312.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.09% to 3.2925, while EUR/PEN fell 0.12% to 3.9034.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 92.95.
