Ora Banda Mining Ltd (ASX:OBM) will lose Keith Jones as a member of its board of directors as he plans to retire at the end of the month after more than three years with the company.
In his place, Alan Rule, a finance executive with more than 25 years’ experience as the chief financial officer of ASX-listed mining companies, will join as an independent non-executive director effective September 30, 2022.
Contribution acknowledged
Ora Banda chairman Peter Mansell said: “Together with my fellow directors, I would like to acknowledge and thank Keith for his significant contribution to Ora Banda and its board of directors.
“Keith brought valuable experience and insights to our board particularly during the recapitalisation of the company in mid-2019, and in his role as chair of the audit and risk committee. We wish Keith all the very best for the future.
“We welcome Alan to the board as an experienced finance executive and non-executive director, and we look forward to working with him.”
Mining veteran
Rule brings to Ora Banda a wide-ranging experience in mergers and acquisitions within the mining industry, including stints at Galaxy Resources Ltd (ASX:GXY) from 2017 until it was taken over in 2021, Sundance Resources Ltd, Paladin Energy Ltd (ASX:PDN) and Mount Gibson Ltd.
He has considerable experience in international debt and equity financing of mining projects, implementation of accounting controls and systems, risk management, governance, and regulatory requirements in mining companies.
Rule is a Chartered Accountant (Fellow) and holds Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Accounting degrees, and is currently a non-executive director of AIM-listed Yellow Cake PLC (AIM:YCA).
