Novo Resources Corp (TSX:NVO, OTCQX:NSRPF, ASX:NVO) has made broad progress at the Egina Gold Camp joint venture (JV) in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, extending the high-grade Main Lode at Nunyerry North to 500 metres of strike and striking high-grade gold along the Estrid Fault.
JV partner De Grey Mining is also advancing targets at the Becher Project, and NVO is exploring several targets along the Tabba Tabba Shear Corridor.
Additionally, the company recently executed a Determination Wide Aboriginal Heritage Protection Agreement with Kariyarra Aboriginal Corporation, covering both its JV tenements with De Grey Mining and enabling the acquisition of the Balla Balla Gold Project.
Novo’s focus will be primarily on Balla Balla in the fourth quarter, with an aircore drilling program over orogenic and intrusion-related gold targets near the Sholl Shear Zone already in the works alongside field activities at the Miralga Project.
Strong gold results from Nunyerry North
“We continue our strong exploration program across key gold targets in the Pilbara,” Novo Resources executive co-chair and acting CEO Mike Spreadborough said.
“The drilling results at Nunyerry North are very promising and we look forward to assessing the complete program and establishing the next set of work activities.”
The standout intercepts from NVO’s 34-hole, 3,942-metre program include:
- 13 metres at 2.68 g/t gold from 66 metres, including 3 metres at 10.41 g/t gold from 66 metres;
- 11 metres at 2.20 g/t gold from 84 metres, including 1-metre at 18.06 g/t gold from 86 metres;
- 17 metres at 1.85 g/t gold from 25 metres, including 7 metres at 3.55 g/t gold from 25 metres;
- 9 metres at 2.52 g/t gold from 87 metres, including 2 metres at 8.89 g/t gold from 92 metres; and
- 2 metres at 7.38 g/t gold from 42 metres.
Pilbara projects advance at pace
“Our Egina Joint Venture partner, De Grey Mining, continues targeted exploration programs across key prospects at the Becher Project,” Spreadborough continued.
“De Grey has completed approximately 36,000 metres of combined aircore and reverse circulation (RC) drilling at Becher to end July 2024 and plans to continue to drill across the Heckmair, Lowe and Whillans targets over the coming months.
“Our Egina JV tenements are considered highly prospective for significant intrusion-related gold deposits and shares similar attributes to the nearby 12.7-million-ounce Hemi Gold Project.”
Further to the south and west, Novo is also pursuing exploration over multiple targets along the 60-kilometre-long Tabba Tabba Shear Corridor.
A re-interpretation of geology, geochemistry and remote sensing/geophysics data over the corridor, coupled with results from Nunyerry North, have produced several conceptual targets with little to no historical exploration.
Novo is now mapping and surface sampling over prospective areas to identify potential drilling targets, covering six areas with plans to collect about 1,200 soil samples as well as rock and stream sediment samples when available.
