Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Energy and Diversified Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 1.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS), which rose 7.31% or 2.63 points to trade at 38.60 at the close. Aker BP ASA (OL:AKERBP) added 4.09% or 12.40 points to end at 315.80 and DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) was up 3.71% or 0.55 points to 15.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC), which lost 1.21% or 3.00 points to trade at 245.20 in late trade. P/f Bakkafrost (OL:BAKKA) declined 0.78% or 3.60 points to end at 459.60 and Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL:GJFS) shed 0.54% or 0.7 points to 128.9.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 116 to 62 and 19 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 3.23% or 2.28 to $72.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.40% or 1.83 to hit $77.97 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 3.50 to trade at $1256.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.19% to 9.4510, while USD/NOK rose 0.32% to 8.1559.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 94.79.
