Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Materials, Diversified Financials and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.81% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY), which rose 7.86% or 3.55 points to trade at 48.88 at the close. Aker Solutions OL (OL:AKSOL) added 1.76% or 0.78 points to end at 45.20 and Yara International ASA (OL:YAR) was up 1.47% or 5.1 points to 352.9 in late trade.
Biggest losers included REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which lost 5.38% or 0.08 points to trade at 1.32 in late trade. BW LPG Ltd (OL:BWLPG) declined 2.59% or 1.18 points to end at 44.44 and DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) shed 1.57% or 0.15 points to 9.07.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 103 to 75 and 28 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.35% or 0.71 to $53.46 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.85% or 0.47 to hit $55.70 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.25% or 3.05 to trade at $1212.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.32% to 8.9562, while USD/NOK fell 0.19% to 8.3312.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 100.11.
