Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences, Materials and Auto & components sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.26% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Bw Lpg (OL:BWLPG), which rose 5.28% or 1.42 points to trade at 28.32 at the close. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) added 3.67% or 0.8 points to end at 22.6 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) was up 3.19% or 1.26 points to 40.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which lost 4.67% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.96 in late trade. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) declined 2.72% or 0.69 points to end at 24.70 and Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL:GJFS) shed 1.28% or 1.8 points to 139.1.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 111 to 97 and 22 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.13% or 0.06 to $47.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.22% or 0.11 to hit $48.84 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.30% or 3.55 to trade at $1184.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.20% to 9.0705, while USD/NOK fell 0.28% to 8.5883.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 101.72.
