Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Commercial Service And Supplies, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.09% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were BW LPG Ltd (OL:BWLPG), which rose 2.30% or 0.79 points to trade at 35.12 at the close. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) added 2.06% or 3.7 points to end at 183.0 and Statoil ASA (OL:STL) was up 1.86% or 2.7 points to 147.7 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY), which lost 1.82% or 0.95 points to trade at 51.25 in late trade. Grieg Seafood (OL:GSFO) declined 1.73% or 1.15 points to end at 65.35 and Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA) shed 1.26% or 2.6 points to 203.4.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 74 and 29 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.39% or 0.68 to $49.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.92% or 0.99 to hit $52.48 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.75% or 9.40 to trade at $1269.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.19% to 9.3072, while USD/NOK fell 0.43% to 7.9215.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 93.22.
