Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Insurance, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES), which rose 5.00% or 6.82 points to trade at 143.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 2.88% or 0.07 points to end at 2.50 and Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) was up 2.20% or 0.11 points to 5.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 31.43 at the close. Dangflour (LAGOS:DANGFLO) declined 4.94% or 0.12 points to end at 2.31 and Firstcity Bnk (LAGOS:FCMB) was down 4.35% or 0.09 points to 2.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos Stock Exchange by 27 to 20 and 30 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dangflour (LAGOS:DANGFLO) fell to all time lows; falling 4.94% or 0.12 to 2.31.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.76% or 0.35 to $45.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $48.55 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1106.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.88% to 215.830, while USD/NGN rose 0.13% to 199.100.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 98.09.
