Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Insurance and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which rose 9.54% or 0.25 points to trade at 2.81 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) added 1.81% or 0.57 points to end at 33.00 and Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) was up 4.85% or 1.18 points to 25.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN), which fell 3.03% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.950 at the close. Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) declined 2.06% or 0.04 points to end at 1.89 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) was down 0.75% or 1.02 points to 135.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos Stock Exchange by 24 to 16 and 43 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.04% or 0.46 to $43.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.49% or 0.23 to hit $47.94 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.10% or 1.10 to trade at $1088.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.91% to 214.770, while USD/NGN fell 0.03% to 198.925.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 99.06.
