Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which rose 9.34% or 2.05 points to trade at 23.60 at the close. Access Bank (LAGOS:ACCESS) added 3.46% or 0.36 points to end at 10.76 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was up 1.89% or 0.010 points to 0.540 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which lost 5.84% or 1.08 points to trade at 17.60 in late trade. Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) declined 4.93% or 0.070 points to end at 1.350 and Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) shed 4.15% or 40.00 points to 915.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 44 to 31 and 26 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.61% or 0.28 to $46.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.39% or 0.19 to hit $48.34 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.26 to trade at $1269.14 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.31% to 353.020, while USD/NGN rose 0.15% to 324.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 97.25.
