Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 2.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG), which rose 6.38% or 1.10 points to trade at 18.35 at the close. Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) added 4.72% or 5.00 points to end at 111.30 and Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) was up 4.99% or 2.30 points to 48.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which lost 4.81% or 1.00 points to trade at 19.80 in late trade. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) declined 4.76% or 0.70 points to end at 14.00 and Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) shed 4.31% or 8.70 points to 208.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 39 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.93% or 0.60 to $65.35 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.27% or 0.20 to hit $75.09 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.45% or 5.90 to trade at $1303.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.37% to 420.420, while USD/NGN rose 0.14% to 361.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 93.79.
