Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which rose 5.00% or 2.10 points to trade at 44.10 at the close. Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) added 5.00% or 1.20 points to end at 25.22 and Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) was up 4.84% or 0.260 points to 5.630 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Union Bank LG (LAGOS:UBN), which lost 2.07% or 0.12 points to trade at 5.95 in late trade. Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) declined 1.15% or 1.99 points to end at 168.65 and Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) shed 0.36% or 0.05 points to 13.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 37 to 29 and 25 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.22% or 0.11 to $50.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.23% or 0.13 to hit $56.56 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 3.72 to trade at $1298.52 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.53% to 427.780, while USD/NGN rose 1.55% to 360.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 91.98.
