Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Banking and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.40% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL), which rose 4.78% or 11.00 points to trade at 234.00 at the close. Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) added 3.52% or 0.070 points to end at 2.060 and Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) was up 2.44% or 0.030 points to 1.260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB), which lost 3.92% or 5.40 points to trade at 132.30 in late trade. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) declined 2.91% or 0.51 points to end at 16.99 and Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES) shed 1.09% or 1.07 points to 98.49.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.78% or 1.02 to $58.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.80% or 1.13 to hit $63.76 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.74% or 9.46 to trade at $1282.66 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.54% to 428.420, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 92.78.
