Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which rose 4.97% or 0.87 points to trade at 18.38 at the close. Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) added 4.90% or 0.35 points to end at 7.50 and Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) was up 4.85% or 0.050 points to 1.080 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC), which lost 4.04% or 1.78 points to trade at 42.27 in late trade. Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) declined 3.54% or 0.85 points to end at 23.15 and Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) shed 2.04% or 5.00 points to 240.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 43 to 34 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.84% or 0.44 to $52.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.41% or 0.24 to hit $58.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.06% or 0.75 to trade at $1279.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.15% to 423.960, while USD/NGN rose 0.98% to 360.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 93.53.
