Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ), which rose 5.99% or 1.30 points to trade at 22.62 at the close. Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 4.95% or 0.050 points to end at 1.060 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) was up 3.23% or 0.050 points to 1.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL), which lost 4.66% or 10.99 points to trade at 225.01 in late trade. Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) declined 1.69% or 0.71 points to end at 41.20 and Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) shed 0.84% or 0.060 points to 7.050.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 36 to 36 and 23 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.83% or 0.45 to $54.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.06% or 0.64 to hit $61.26 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.64% or 8.17 to trade at $1269.93 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.04% to 419.320, while USD/NGN fell 0.28% to 355.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 94.84.
