Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR), which rose 10.19% or 0.84 points to trade at 9.08 at the close. Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) added 3.11% or 7.25 points to end at 233.00 and Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) was up 1.63% or 20.01 points to 1250.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC), which lost 4.65% or 2.05 points to trade at 42.00 in late trade. Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) declined 3.85% or 2.00 points to end at 49.51 and Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) shed 2.52% or 1.08 points to 41.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 40 to 30 and 17 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.35% or 0.19 to $54.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.35% or 0.21 to hit $60.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 6.79 to trade at $1278.59 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.05% to 418.760, while USD/NGN rose 1.26% to 360.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 94.45.
