Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Insurance, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT), which rose 4.88% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.580 at the close. Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 4.67% or 0.070 points to end at 1.570 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) was up 4.00% or 0.020 points to 0.520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE), which lost 4.53% or 70.41 points to trade at 1485.58 in late trade. Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) declined 4.26% or 9.79 points to end at 220.16 and Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) shed 3.85% or 0.020 points to 0.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 38 to 28 and 19 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.41% or 0.25 to $60.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.79% or 0.53 to hit $66.34 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.30% or 3.90 to trade at $1313.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.60% to 433.540, while USD/NGN unchanged 0.00% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 91.60.
