Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 1.52% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which rose 4.11% or 0.179 points to trade at 4.531 at the close. NN Group NV (AS:NN) added 3.00% or 0.91 points to end at 31.11 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) was up 1.21% or 0.50 points to 41.97 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which lost 3.73% or 4.40 points to trade at 113.55 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 3.46% or 0.73 points to end at 20.50 and Unilever NV (AS:UNc) shed 2.87% or 1.43 points to 48.23.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 99 to 24 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 19.97% to 15.93 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.29% or 0.13 to $44.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $47.59 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 3.11 to trade at $1245.99 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1425, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8798.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 95.44.
