Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa), which rose 0.50% or 0.120 points to trade at 23.995 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 0.13% or 0.020 points to end at 14.950 and SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) was up 0.04% or 0.01 points to 13.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.70% or 2.050 points to trade at 73.990 in late trade. Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) declined 1.78% or 0.93 points to end at 51.35 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) shed 1.65% or 3.90 points to 232.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 83 to 43 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.97% to 11.19.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.90% or 0.43 to $47.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.16% or 0.58 to hit $49.37 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 2.02 to trade at $1282.22 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.1252, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.8709.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 96.78.
