Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 3.22% or 0.610 points to trade at 19.555 at the close. SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) added 2.85% or 0.40 points to end at 14.42 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 0.97% or 0.145 points to 15.140 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 2.78% or 0.61 points to trade at 21.54 in late trade. Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) declined 2.22% or 0.66 points to end at 29.02 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) shed 1.89% or 0.055 points to 2.848.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 92 to 29 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 8.28% to 12.95 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.89% or 0.82 to $44.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.95% or 0.90 to hit $46.94 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.01 to trade at $1247.41 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.16% to 1.1311, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.8848.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.78% at 96.35.
