Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were NN Group NV (AS:NN), which rose 1.67% or 0.54 points to trade at 32.53 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 1.36% or 0.038 points to end at 2.838 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 1.17% or 0.180 points to 15.605 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.85% or 1.930 points to trade at 65.790 in late trade. Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) declined 2.15% or 0.61 points to end at 28.02 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) shed 1.36% or 0.245 points to 17.800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 90 to 36 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 6.10% to 13.75.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.44% or 1.10 to $46.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.13% or 1.02 to hit $48.81 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.53 to trade at $1223.23 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.1412, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8811.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 95.64.
