Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Relx NV (AS:RELN), which rose 4.40% or 0.620 points to trade at 14.710 at the close. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) added 3.95% or 1.24 points to end at 32.67 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.62% or 0.890 points to 55.840 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which lost 4.13% or 0.90 points to trade at 20.90 in late trade. Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) declined 1.28% or 0.75 points to end at 57.70 and Randstad (AS:RAND) shed 1.25% or 0.60 points to 47.83.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 92 to 78 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.81% to 19.23.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.15% or 0.07 to $45.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $46.91 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.18% or 2.15 to trade at $1226.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.0703, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8592.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 100.28.
