Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were KPN Kon (AS:KPN), which rose 3.89% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.937 at the close. Randstad (AS:RAND) added 3.08% or 1.40 points to end at 46.91 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was up 1.32% or 0.082 points to 6.287 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vopak (AS:VOPA), which lost 1.63% or 0.78 points to trade at 46.67 in late trade. Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) declined 1.58% or 0.95 points to end at 59.27 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) shed 1.53% or 0.27 points to 17.11.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 98 to 75 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.89% to 16.81.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.13% or 0.57 to $49.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.26% or 0.65 to hit $50.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.81% or 10.25 to trade at $1273.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0886, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.8931.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 98.70.
