Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 2.74% or 0.60 points to trade at 22.49 at the close. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) added 1.69% or 0.68 points to end at 40.82 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 0.93% or 0.21 points to 22.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 3.02% or 2.760 points to trade at 88.620 in late trade. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 2.56% or 3.78 points to end at 143.96 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) shed 2.04% or 0.04 points to 2.07.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 79 to 43 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.05% to 16.21.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.30% or 0.17 to $56.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.67% or 0.45 to hit $66.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1222.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1446, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8909.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 96.10.
