Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unilever NV (AS:UNc), which rose 0.48% or 0.24 points to trade at 50.63 at the close. Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) added 0.27% or 0.10 points to end at 39.58 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was up 0.21% or 0.16 points to 77.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.11% or 1.830 points to trade at 84.780 in late trade. Gemalto (AS:GTO) declined 1.91% or 0.78 points to end at 40.10 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) shed 1.90% or 0.68 points to 35.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 77 to 43 and 17 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.44% to 9.95 a new 6-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.34% or 0.17 to $49.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $55.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.24 to trade at $1327.06 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1959, while EUR/GBP fell 0.93% to 0.8813.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 91.79.
