Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which rose 0.89% or 0.28 points to trade at 32.25 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 0.83% or 0.12 points to end at 15.20 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was up 0.80% or 0.62 points to 78.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 10.04% or 4.31 points to trade at 38.60 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.73% or 0.34 points to end at 19.00 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) shed 1.73% or 0.62 points to 35.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 87 to 40 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 9.43% to 13.28.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.19% or 0.09 to $47.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.70% or 0.37 to hit $52.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.61% or 8.13 to trade at $1338.53 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1914, while EUR/GBP rose 0.56% to 0.9216.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 92.49.
