Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 0.73% or 0.02 points to trade at 2.47 at the close. Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) added 0.56% or 0.50 points to end at 90.08 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 0.47% or 0.85 points to 180.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 2.24% or 0.272 points to trade at 11.852 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 1.48% or 0.395 points to end at 26.285 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) shed 1.32% or 0.50 points to 37.24.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 83 to 44 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.97% to 13.33 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.65% or 1.79 to $65.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.14% or 1.56 to hit $71.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.38% or 16.80 to trade at $1202.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1388, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8932.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 96.28.
