Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unilever NV (AS:UNc), which rose 1.99% or 0.76 points to trade at 38.98 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) added 1.67% or 3.60 points to end at 219.50 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) was up 1.21% or 0.88 points to 73.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NN Group (AS:NN), which lost 2.37% or 0.76 points to trade at 31.35 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 2.27% or 0.310 points to end at 13.350 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 1.42% or 0.32 points to 21.93.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 71 to 55 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.85% to 15.19.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.40% or 0.21 to $52.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.31% or 0.17 to hit $55.22 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 8.35 to trade at $1244.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0703, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8542.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 100.11.
