Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 1.19% or 1.65 points to trade at 140.65 at the close. Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) added 1.01% or 0.52 points to end at 52.07 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 0.91% or 0.760 points to 84.320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Heineken (AS:HEIN), which lost 3.77% or 3.30 points to trade at 84.29 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 3.76% or 0.69 points to end at 17.53 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) shed 1.63% or 0.370 points to 22.350.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 68 to 58 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.01% to 9.98.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.91% or 0.46 to $49.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.88% or 0.49 to hit $54.99 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.00% or 0.03 to trade at $1310.77 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1968, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8879.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 91.79.
