Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 2.91% or 1.32 points to trade at 46.85 at the close. Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) added 1.10% or 0.054 points to end at 4.956 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was up 0.63% or 0.21 points to 33.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which lost 1.61% or 0.22 points to trade at 13.45 in late trade. Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) declined 1.13% or 0.32 points to end at 27.67 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) shed 1.01% or 0.38 points to 36.69.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 51 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.42% to 12.65.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.58% or 1.25 to $47.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.65% or 0.87 to hit $51.70 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.74 to trade at $1292.96 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1805, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.9227.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.18.
