Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 1.57% or 0.350 points to trade at 22.700 at the close. SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) added 1.33% or 0.20 points to end at 14.90 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) was up 1.18% or 0.285 points to 24.445 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which lost 1.46% or 2.05 points to trade at 138.60 in late trade. Unilever NV (AS:UNc) declined 0.69% or 0.35 points to end at 50.27 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) shed 0.43% or 0.17 points to 39.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 69 to 50 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.63% to 10.34.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.14% or 1.07 to $50.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.18% or 1.20 to hit $56.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 5.70 to trade at $1316.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.2002, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.8845.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 91.50.
