Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:ING), which rose 2.02% or 0.205 points to trade at 10.330 at the close. Aegon (AS:AEGN) added 1.68% or 0.072 points to end at 4.362 and Randstad (AS:RAND) was up 1.13% or 0.52 points to 46.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 1.23% or 0.05 points to trade at 4.17 in late trade. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) declined 1.00% or 2.35 points to end at 233.75 and Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) shed 0.86% or 0.17 points to 18.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 103 to 54 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.06% to 21.05.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.03% or 0.50 to $48.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.73% or 0.36 to hit $49.64 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.32% or 4.10 to trade at $1272.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1273, while EUR/GBP fell 1.35% to 0.7717.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 94.74.
