Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 1.93% or 0.08 points to trade at 4.23 at the close. ASML Holding (AS:ASML) added 1.80% or 1.58 points to end at 89.49 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) was up 1.41% or 0.215 points to 15.475 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 11.76% or 1.80 points to trade at 13.54 in late trade. Randstad (AS:RAND) declined 3.64% or 1.78 points to end at 47.19 and SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) shed 1.73% or 0.19 points to 10.77.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 67 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.70% to 22.32.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.20% or 0.44 to $36.35 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 1.29% or 0.50 to hit $38.17 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.47% or 5.70 to trade at $1217.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1394, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.7981.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 94.51.
