Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 1.79% or 0.265 points to trade at 15.040 at the close. Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) added 1.68% or 0.68 points to end at 40.95 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was up 1.48% or 0.46 points to 31.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 1.33% or 0.69 points to trade at 51.36 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.17% or 0.830 points to end at 70.210 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) shed 0.70% or 0.46 points to 64.99.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 62 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.09% to 11.75.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 4.73% or 2.28 to $45.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 3.79% or 1.90 to hit $48.22 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.34% or 4.43 to trade at $1293.07 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1246, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8707.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 96.74.
