Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.25% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 1.89% or 0.35 points to trade at 18.89 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) added 1.43% or 3.05 points to end at 216.80 and Vopak (AS:VOPA) was up 1.11% or 0.48 points to 43.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which lost 1.81% or 0.39 points to trade at 21.13 in late trade. Philips Kon (AS:PHG) declined 1.37% or 0.39 points to end at 27.99 and NN Group (AS:NN) shed 1.03% or 0.33 points to 31.71.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 73 to 51 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 8.30% to 13.33 a new 3-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.41% or 0.72 to $51.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.74% or 0.94 to hit $54.96 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.88% or 9.90 to trade at $1139.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.0459, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8367.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 102.72.
