Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN), which rose 1.80% or 0.56 points to trade at 31.70 at the close. ASML Holding (AS:ASML) added 1.10% or 1.06 points to end at 97.69 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 1.04% or 0.113 points to 10.967 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 1.84% or 0.102 points to trade at 5.448 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.39% or 0.23 points to end at 15.97 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) shed 1.10% or 0.67 points to 60.29.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 96 to 77 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.65% to 17.29.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.56% or 0.27 to $48.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.44% or 0.22 to hit $50.03 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.38% or 5.05 to trade at $1320.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1238, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8649.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 95.34.
