Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.12% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Randstad (AS:RAND), which rose 4.00% or 2.21 points to trade at 57.51 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 0.81% or 0.110 points to end at 13.670 and NN Group (AS:NN) was up 0.69% or 0.22 points to 32.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Heineken (AS:HEIN), which lost 0.96% or 0.71 points to trade at 72.95 in late trade. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) declined 0.77% or 0.020 points to end at 2.584 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 0.76% or 0.490 points to 63.990.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 70 to 57 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.10% to 13.35.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.45% or 0.24 to $53.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.63% or 0.35 to hit $55.94 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.65 to trade at $1225.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.0566, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.8488.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 101.35.
