Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which rose 2.29% or 0.068 points to trade at 3.040 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 1.80% or 0.40 points to end at 22.60 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 1.71% or 0.335 points to 19.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which lost 0.70% or 0.10 points to trade at 14.18 in late trade. Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) declined 0.67% or 0.165 points to end at 24.290 and Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) shed 0.56% or 0.29 points to 51.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 59 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.46% to 11.44.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.29% or 0.63 to $49.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.89% or 0.46 to hit $51.92 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.75% or 9.48 to trade at $1265.88 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1171, while EUR/GBP rose 0.83% to 0.8733.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 97.40.
