Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which rose 7.02% or 1.430 points to trade at 21.800 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 6.72% or 0.15 points to end at 2.32 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 3.19% or 2.940 points to 95.180 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which lost 0.67% or 0.15 points to trade at 22.24 in late trade. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 0.20% or 0.08 points to end at 40.26 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 50.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 34 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 10.24% to 14.60.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.51% or 0.32 to $61.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $72.18 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.46% or 5.60 to trade at $1229.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1463, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8717.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 95.75.
