Netherlands shares higher at close of trade; AEX up 1.15%

Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.15%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 3.07% or 0.382 points to trade at 12.840 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 2.78% or 4.65 points to end at 172.05 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was up 2.45% or 0.90 points to 37.66 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which lost 1.60% or 0.77 points to trade at 47.27 in late trade. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) declined 1.51% or 2.90 points to end at 189.65 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) shed 0.21% or 0.18 points to 85.46.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 29 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 9.29% to 13.26.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.88% or 0.59 to $66.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.01% or 0.78 to hit $76.78 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 4.10 to trade at $1296.00 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1673, while EUR/GBP fell 0.63% to 0.8739.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 94.09.
